Frequently asked questions

Is iTrack4Tax tax-prep software? Will it file my taxes?

No. iTrack4Tax doesn't fill in or file tax forms. It records your mileage, expenses, distributions, and reimbursements, and organizes them by IRS form line so the return is easier to prepare, whether you do it yourself or hand it to a professional.

Do I still need a CPA?

That depends on your situation. iTrack4Tax doesn't give tax, legal, or accounting advice. Many people with multiple entities or rental property work with a tax professional, and iTrack4Tax is designed to hand that person clean records.

Does it connect to my bank?

No. There are no bank feeds. You add expenses by scanning receipts, entering them by hand, or importing a CSV or Excel file.

Is it bookkeeping software?

No. It isn't a general ledger and doesn't do double-entry accounting. It's focused on the records that drive deductions and owner distributions.

Can I track more than one business?

Yes. That's what the app is designed for. Each entity has its own tax year, return type, expenses, mileage, and reports.

Which tax returns does it organize for?

Form 1065 (partnerships), Form 1120-S (S corporations), Form 1120 (C corporations), Schedule C, Schedule E, Form 8825, and Schedule A for medical and charitable mileage.

How does mileage tracking work?

With your permission, iTrack4Tax uses your iPhone's location services to detect trips automatically, including in the background. You classify each trip (business, medical, or charity) and can assign it to an entity or property. The IRS standard mileage rate for the trip's date is applied automatically.

How does receipt scanning work?

Take a photo of a receipt. Apple's built-in text recognition reads it on your device and fills in the vendor, amount, date, and card last four. Check the details and save. The receipt image is stored with the expense.

Can my business partner or accountant see my records?

Yes, if you invite them. Each person gets a role (owner, admin, partner, accountant, or read-only) that controls what they can see and change.

Can I import last year's records?

Yes. Download the CSV or Excel template, or upload your own file. iTrack4Tax detects your columns automatically.

How do I sign in?

With an email address and password. You can turn on Face ID or Touch ID to unlock the App faster on your device.

Can I use it on more than one device?

Your account can be signed in on one device at a time. Signing in on a new device signs out the old one. This protects your records if a phone is lost or sold.

Is there an Android or web version?

No. iTrack4Tax runs on iPhone and iPad, and on Apple silicon Macs as an iPad app.

When will it be available, and what will it cost?

iTrack4Tax isn't on the App Store yet. Availability and pricing will be posted here when they're ready.
